over pale skin,
try to forget him
who cracked your polka dots, who still yokes your thoughts
who painted you numb by numbers

binds you to the bruise hues, the daily blues
blinds the green heart-sick with crimson lipstick
and nips lips, bumps hips, dumps quips
he sips from your cup – or gulps –
sulks

It’s too late to be saved
he took
and you gave
